How To Make Marketing Signs That Appeal To Children

If you make a sign that advertises a small toy, you are going to want to make sure that the sign is designed to appeal to the children, not the adults. If you make a sign that is aimed at the adults, both the children and adults are going to ignore it and you lose out on business. If you make a sign that appeals to children, you increase the chances that they will plead with their parents to be allowed to take the toy home and therefore increase the number of potential customers you have. Here are some tips for making signs that appeal to children.

1. Use Primary Colors

There's a reason why many children's toys are in the primary colors. It's because the primary colors appeal to children and catch their attention. Eventually, children become used to the idea that if something has a primary color scheme, then it is for them. Adults rarely are marketed to using a primary color scheme and children like feeling that they are receiving attention. Capitalize on this by using primary colors to draw the eye of the children looking at the product.

2. Use Characters

Children also like anthropomorphic animals. Have your designers create an image of an animal that can be used to sell the product. Simply putting the image on the poster and having that image look really excited about whatever toy you are selling will increase the chances that children will look at the sign and ask their parents about purchasing the toy that it advertises.

3. Use Pictures of Children Playing With the Toys

If you don't want to hire a designer to create an anthropomorphic animal to advertise your toy, then you might want to consider taking photographs of other children playing with your toy and looking like they are having a ton of fun. Blow these pictures up and put them on your sign. Children will see these children having fun and want to participate in that activity. This will make them more likely to pester their parents for the toy.

4. Use Lights

Finally, make your sign light up. This is a surefire way to make sure that children at least look at your sign before moving on. You can either have the lights flash on and off or you can have them change color. The change in the quality of the light will also draw a child's attention.
